The adorable American Wigeon can be seen feeding at the surface of water. The “bald-stripe” down the center of their face can be a key identifying feature. Personally, my favorite thing about American wigeons are the high-pitched whistles they make. Males will make calls that sound like a dog-squeaky toy.
